Please note that in accordance with ALDE Party statutes the deadline to submit draft resolutions to the ALDE Party Congress is 2 months prior to the Congress.
Resolutions for Budapest must be submitted via the online platform http://debate.aldeparty.eu by Monday 21 September 2015. The platform will be activated by Monday 14 September and International Officers will be given administrative rights to upload draft resolutions upon registration on this platform or can use their access codes from previous years.
Amendments to draft resolutions must be submitted by Friday 23 October 2015 via the online platform http://debate.aldeparty.eu. Member parties will have received a consolidated dossier of all draft resolutions at the latest by Friday 9 October 2015.
Draft urgency resolutions can be submitted via the online platform http://debate.aldeparty.eu until Thursday 19 November 2015 at 09:00 CET. They must not exceed 300 words and must deal with issues or developments that have occured since the deadline for regular resolutions.
The position of President and 5 Vice-President positions are up for election at Congress this year.
Sir Graham Watson is eligible to run for another mandate limited to one year should he wish to do so (although it was announced at the ALDE Party Council Meeting in Oslo in May 2015 that he would not seek to do so). Vice-Presidents Alexander Graf Lambsdorff, Karin Riis-Jorgensen and Olle Schmidt are eligible to run for another mandate of two years as Vice President should they wish to do so; Lousewies van der Laan and Marc Guerrero are not eligible to run again as they will have served 6 years consecutively in the Bureau, which is the maximum duration allowed by ALDE Party statutes.
The deadline for nominations as per ALDE Party's internal regulations is 6 weeks prior to the Congress, i.e. on Friday 9 October 2015. Only full member parties that have paid their annual membership fee can nominate candidates and their nomination letter must be signed by a full member party leader.
Once nominated, the ALDE Party Secretariat will contact candidates to discuss electoral & Congress procedures.
ALDE GEN Elections
2 Vice-President positions in the ALDE Party Gender Equality Network steering committee are up for election this year.
As per the ALDE GEN Rules of Procedure, the Vice-Presidents will be elected by an online vote which will be held from 6 November 2015 until 13 November 2015. Each ALDE member party will have one vote and International Officers will be given access to the online voting platform. Election results will be announced at Congress.
Candidates must be nominated by an ALDE member party up to one month prior to Congress i.e. on Monday 19 October 2015. At this time, candidates must submit an outline of their proposed ALDE GEN work programme to the ALDE GEN Coordinator Laura Laussade email@example.com which will be circulated to member parties.
Delegation lists will close at 17:00 CET on Thursday 12 November 2015. Other than in the exceptional cases of flight cancellation, sickness, or unforeseen political developments, when changes can be made by contacting the ALDE Party Secretariat. Failure of the International Officer to assign all voting rights by this deadline will result in that delegation being unable to exercise unallocated votes.
