ELDR Vice president and Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić, participated in the second Split Pride rally, organised by Croatian gay rights activists on 6 June 2012. Unlike the previous Pride in that city, marked by incidents and riots, this years’ gathering was called a success both by number of participants and a positive and peaceful outcome. Minister Pusić stated that: “by coming to Split we supported equality and the fight against any kind of discrimination. This government is sending a clear signal against any kind of violence and will ensure the protection of rights of all minorities.” ELDR member and Croatian liberal party HNS strongly supported the event and participated with its delegation.
