This week the focus is on energy, with the EU Sustainable Energy Week taking place as well as the Rio +20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, where energy is one of the priority areas to be discussed.
The EU Sustainable Energy week is an initiative by the European Commission. A high-level policy conference takes place in Brussels, primarily in the European Commission’s Charlemagne building and in the Committee of the Regions from Tuesday to Thursday. Throughout the week the different sessions organized are expected to gather approximately 4 000 people from 50+ countries to take advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas with other players in the sustainable energy sector, meet EU decision makers and pursue business opportunities.
Also during the week, almost 150 Energy Days will take place in the Belgian capital, as well as 900 across Europe. These events which are aimed at the general public, promote energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in an engaging, accessible and interactive way. More information on the Conference and on the Energy Days in Brussels at eusew.eu/energy-week-brussels.
