European liberals deeply regret the passing of Spain's first democratic Prime Minister Adolfo Suarez. ALDE Party President Sir Graham Watson MEP offered his “condolences to the family of Adolfo Suarez, a great Liberal who will be much missed”.

D66 are the big winners in Dutch local elections
ALDE Party member D66, led by Alexander Pechtold, was the big winner in last Wednesday’s local elections across the Netherlands. The social liberal party, campaigning for the creation of more jobs, lower taxes and better education, became the leading political party in most of the bigger cities.

Armenia: initiative to establish Parliamentary Commission on 1 March 2008 tragedy rejected
Four opposition parties in Armenia, including ALDE Party member ANC, introduced a parliamentary motion to create a parliamentary commission to investigate the tragic events of 1 March 2008. On 10 March 2014, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia once again voted against the proposal.
