ALDE success - Parliament votes to end roaming fees
End roaming fees, safeguard net neutrality and extend broadband – these were the goals of the ALDE Group in the European Parliament for the latest EU roaming package. If the Council agrees with the European Parliament, telecom providers in the EU will no longer be allowed to charge extra roaming costs.

Last weekend in Rome, ALDE Party candidate Guy Verhofstadt officially launched the ‘Scelta Europea’ list together with a series of Italian political parties like Scelta Civica, Fare per fermare il declino, Centro Democratico, Partito Republicano, Partito Federalista and Partito Liberal Italiano among others.

Commenting on the election result in Hungary, ALDE Party President Sir Graham Watson MEP said: “Viktor Orban's popularity is clearly waning", while ALDE Party candidate Guy Verhofstadt emphasised that: "Results show there's a need for a reform minded centrist alternative in the upcoming European elections."

Venstre in Norway put 'People first' at Congress
"People first". This slogan eloquently sums up the message of the Congress of our Norwegian ALDE Party member Venstre, held last weekend near the country's capital Oslo. Most of the Congress was devoted to Human Rights, with speakers from Ukraine, Libya and Canada.

Gender Equality Network meeting: women in politics
Last weekend, the ALDE Party Gender Equality Network gathered in Berlin, at the headquarters of ALDE Party member FDP for a seminar to discuss the work of the network during this year. Network President Flo Clucas closed the seminar by concluding “I think we have started a revolution”.
