Liberals will lead next Belgian government
The President of ALDE member Mouvement Réformateur, Charles Michel, is expected to lead the next Belgian government following a successful conclusion on Tuesday of the country’s government negotiations. Michel - with his 38 years Belgium’s youngest Prime Minister ever - will lead a coalition of four parties.

Commissioners-designate have expressed their priorities in the European Parliament
All of the candidates for European Commission have now appeared before MEPs in the European Parliament for their respective parliamentary hearings. Commissioner-designate for Competition, Margrethe Vestager, asserted that strong competition rules are essential for building an innovative union.

ALDE member MRF challenges position of the second biggest party in Bulgaria
Bulgaria held parliamentary elections on 5 October 2014. The ALDE Party member Movement for Rights and Freedoms obtained 14,8 % of the votes and 38 seats (out of 240), making it the third largest party in Bulgaria, closely behind the Bulgarian Socialist Party which received just over 15 % of the votes.

HNS discusses Croatia's EU membership: one year on
"After an almost 10 years process of accession to join the European Union, Croatia wants to fully benefit from the status of EU member and act together to create a better Union," said HNS president Vesna Pusic, Croatia's minister of foreign and european affairs, concluding a weekend conference.

Associate members to elect their delegates to ALDE Party Congress
The ALDE Party Congress is fast approaching. Associate members, the ALDE Party's individual members, will elect two delegates to represent them in Lisbon. There are six candidates, Athena Drakou, Kristo Helasvuo, Igor Lavš, Sarah Lenders-Valenti, Thomas Philipp Reiter and Rickard Ydrenäs.
