ALDE Party and LYMEC move to a new office
Last Thursday, the ALDE Party secretariat moved to a new address. The new headquarters of the party is located at Rue d'Idalie 11, within walking distance from the European Parliament in Brussels. Also ALDE Party's youth organisation LYMEC - European Liberal Youth moved to the same offices.

Rebuilding liberalism in Italy – an agenda for 2020
Last weekend, more than 60 liberal politicians and activists met in Bologna. The seminar was hosted by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom together with the individual members of the ALDE Party. Sir Graham Watson opened the event that launched a profound rethinking of liberalism in Italy.

Pro-European forces to form government in Moldova
On Sunday 30 November, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova went to the polls. ALDE Party member Partidul Liberal obtained nearly 10%. Together with the Liberal Democrats and the Democrats, they have already initiated discussions on forming a pro-European government that commands a majority of 55 seats.

Former Commissioner Neelie Kroes receives VVD's highest honour
Last weekend at its Congress in Amsterdam, ALDE Party member VVD awarded former European Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes with the party's highest honour. VVD party president Henry Keizer: "Her contribution to liberalism has been so great that she rightfully deserves the title of honorary member."

Juris Pūce new chairperson of Latvijas Attīstībai
On Saturday 29 November, ALDE member party Latvijas Attīstībai assembled for its congress to discuss and develop its policies for a competitive, modern, safe and sustainable Latvia. A new political manifesto was adopted along with a new chairperson and board.

United Democrats of Cyprus address energy question
At a recently held cross-party roundtable, United Democrats leader Praxoula Kyriacou adressed the question of how building new energy pipelines could contribute to solving the Cyprus question. Kyriacou said: “The first pipeline to be built should be neither to Turkey nor to Greece but to the shores of Cyprus"

European Movement International elects new board
Last weekend, members of the European Movement International met for their federal assembly to elect a new board and agree on future political commitments. Reelected as President was incumbent Jo Leinen MEP; ALDE candidate and former Secretary General Federica Sabbati was re-elected as board member.

Liberal International launches Human Rights Bulletin
Coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Liberal International has launched the inaugural edition of its Human Rights Bulletin. Addressing the theme of women’s rights, the bulletin features exclusive, expert opinions from liberals and commentary from the UN Women.
