Following last Wednesday's attacks, ALDE Party President Sir Graham Watson commented "I am appalled by the attack on Charlie Hebdo. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and colleagues. We must defend freedom of speech." Guy Verhofstadt said: "This is a tragedy for France and for Europe."
On Tuesday, the ALDE Group in the European Parliament presented an EU Democratic Governance Pact to Commission Vice-President Timmermans. In the Pact, the Liberal Group urges the Commissioner to discipline member states who do not respect the rule of law.
This week, ALDE Party's individual members are meeting in London on Wednesday and in Ljubljana on Thursday - where they will discuss with the Ambassador of Hungary to Slovenia on the political situation in his country. You can join too!
