Taavi Rõivas is at the helm again of Estonian government
On Thursday 9 April in Tallinn, Estonia's new government was sworn in, which consists of a coalition of ALDE Party member Reform Party, the Social Democratic Party and the Pro Patria and Res Publica Union. Reform Party leader Taavi Rõivas continues to be Prime Minister of Estonia. Congratulations!

Swiss FDP wins in Zürich
With +4.4% and +8 seats, ALDE Party's Swiss member party FDP.Die Liberalen gained more than any other party in the regional elections for the Council of the Canton Zürich. European Liberals are glad as this has been the latest victory for FDP in a series of positive elections over the past months.

ALDE members to take over the steering wheel in Finland?
Finland will go to the polls on Sunday 19 April. The country has three ALDE Member parties: Keskusta, Svenska Folkpartiet and Centern Åland. Keskusta, with Party Leader Juha Sipilä in charge, campaigns with the slogan “Suomi Kuntoon” (A better Finland). We wish our Finnish members the best of luck!

YABLOKO demands for the immediate release of female politicians in Karelia
European Liberal Democrats have also expressed their concerns over the case. “The ALDE Party Gender Equality Network deplores their arrest. Politically active women like Olga Zaletskaya and Alexandra Kornilova are necessary for a democratic and liberal Russia,” said ALDE GEN President Flo Clucas.

LIBSEEN Steering Committee to hold a meeting in Ljubljana
From 17 to 19 April 2015, representatives of LIBSEEN member organisations are to meet in Ljubljana to discuss issues that are vital for the development of their network with the aim to revitalise their work in the region of South Eastern Europe.
