During today's debate State of the Union, the leader of the ALDE Group in the European Parliament Guy Verhofstadt made a plea for a strong Europe to bridge the widening gulf between two generations: young people who believe in a European future and an older generation increasingly turning its back on Europe.

Positive results for Liberals in Croatian snap elections
Voters in Croatia went to the polls on Sunday in snap Parliamentary elections. All three ALDE Party member parties performed well and will be present in the Parliament, but HDZ emerged the largest and talks are due to begin this week to seek a new coalition government.

Last weekend our Polish member party Nowoczesna gathered in Warsaw to present their new political programme under the title "A Modern Poland for Everyone." During the event, Nowoczesna leader Ryszard Petru highlighted that his party stands for a strong Poland in the heart of a strong Europe.

Mouvement Réformateur outline party priorities at political rentrée
On Sunday 11 September ALDE member party Mouvement Réformateur hosted their political rentrée in Ottignies, Belgium. MR President Olivier Chastel and Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel highlighted the core priorities of the party and of the government for the upcoming year.

Individual members: "We must Reboot Europe"
Last Saturday, 40 individual members met in Düsseldorf. While the idea of Europe as a peace project still holds up for many members, particularly the younger ones stressed that this idea alone is not good enough anymore. Therefore, the main question on the agenda was how to reboot Europe.

Young liberal leaders meet in Dublin
From 9 to 11 September Presidents from LYMEC’s member organisations met in Dublin, Ireland, for the annual Young Leaders’ Meeting to share best practices and find inspiration for new actions and campaigns. The weekend started with a discussion with ALDE party Vice President Timmy Dooley TD.

Under the leadership of ALDE Party President Hans van Baalen MEP, the ALDE Party Bureau will meet on Saturday 17 September on the fringe of Liberal Democrats Autumn Conference in Brighton, United Kingdom. The Bureau will also take the chance to have a exchange of views with LibDems leader Tim Farron.

During this event on ICT and entrepreneurship, Guoga encouraged European Digital Single market to go local.
