To show liberal support to the fight against gender-based violence, this year the ALDE Party joins the international campaign ‘16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence’ running from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, the Human Rights Day.

As stated in our 2019 electoral manifesto, combatting violence against women is a priority for Europe’s liberals and we continue to call for the European Union and all EU Member States to ratify the Istanbul Convention. As liberals, we are also committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls, and to working for the same rights and opportunities across all sectors of society, including economic participation and decision-making.

Throughout these 16 days, the ALDE Party will share content relevant to this topic. The easiest way to follow and support our campaign is to keep an eye on this dedicated campaign page where we will post information about our activities to follow us and share our content on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn with #ALDEact!
