To show liberal support to the fight against gender-based violence, this year ALDE Party joins the international campaign ‘16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence’. The campaign kicks off on 25 November, which marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and ends on 10 December, the Human Rights Day.
As stated in our 2019 electoral manifesto, combatting violence against women is a priority for Europe’s liberals and we continue to call for the European Union and all EU Member States to ratify the Istanbul Convention. As liberals, we are also committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls, and to work for the same rights and opportunities across all sectors of society, including economic participation and decision-making.
Throughout these 16 days, ALDE Party will share content relevant to this topic, from hosting a Liberal Breakfast on preventing violence against women in politics to sharing powerful messages from Liberals across Europe and more.
The easiest way to follow and support our campaign is to check out our dedicated campaign page. And don’t forget to follow us and share our content on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn with #ALDEact!
