On 1 April from 19:00 to 20:15 CEST, ALDE Party will host its 6th Hans van Baalen Town Hall meeting in a hybrid format in Warsaw. The event will be co-hosted by ALDE Party's member party in Poland, Nowoczesna, and it will address some of the key concerns about Europe's security and defense and international relations.
Russia’s outrageous and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, that has already caused thousands of deaths, has also significant effects in the Europe Union. The future of freedom, democracy and the European integration will depend on steps taken now. The European Union must not only rethink its role in defense and security but also its attitude toward global and regional superpowers. In this discussion the topic of strategy-driven enlargement cannot be omitted. Additionally, the event in Warsaw, a city that has already welcomed over 300.000 refugees from Ukraine, will touch on migration and solidarity with those fleeing the war.
