Every year, between 4.8.and 12.7 billion kilograms of plastic end up in the ocean. That is the equivalent of 35 shipping containers filled with plastic is dumped into the seas and oceans every hour - with disastrous effects for animals and vegetation.
Science and society have to find solutions together!
That is why ALDE Group MEP Gesine Meißner decided to get involved and invite the Ocean Plastic Lab event to Brussels on Tuesday 10 April. This open-access exhibition in front of the European Parliament was opened by Meissner and her colleague Lieve Wierinck MEP.
