ALDE member parties call for open borders with Italy

Three ALDE Party member parties – FDP in Germany, NEOS in Austria and Team Köllensperger in South Tyrol, Italy – are calling for opening the borders with Italy. Martin Hagen, parliamentary group leader of FDP in the Bavarian state parliament, pointed out that if Bavaria – Tyrol border is opened, the same approach should also apply to Tyrol – South Tyrol border. Paul Köllensperger of Team K sees this border closure harmful for a joint fight against the pandemic in the region. Dominik Oberhofer, spokesperson of NEOS Tyrol, condemns the decision of Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz to keep the borders closed.
