The ALDE Party Bureau met for the third time this year on Friday 7 September in Brussels, Belgium.
Under the leadership of ALDE Party President Hans van Baalen MEP, the Bureau discussed the draft of the ALDE Manifesto for the 2019 European elections before it is sent out to member parties in preparation for the next ALDE Party Congress in November in Madrid.
Besides, the ALDE Party Bureau also issued two statements on the membership of ALDE Romania and PDeCAT.
On ALDE Romania, the Bureau decided to keep monitoring the developments in Romania closely with very clear benchmarks. It will report back to the ALDE Party Council which deals with membership issues. ALDE Ro will be asked to clarify its position on the developments when and if necessary. However, the current membership status of ALDE Ro remains unchanged. More information on the statement can be found here.
On PDeCAT, the Bureau decided to continue the process started before summer over the allegations of corruptions towards PDeCAT. The Bureau decided to extend the time for PDeCAT to respond to the allegations in person at Party Headquarters not later than Friday 14 September 2018. The Bureau will submit their position for a decision by the ALDE Party Council. More information on the statement can be found here.
