ALDE Party Heads of Delegation meet in Brussels

On 11 June, ALDE Party newly-elected Heads of Delegation met in Brussels to discuss the outcome of the European elections.

We are proud of our member parties and the MEPs that have managed to convince millions of citizens across Europe and are entrusted to represent them in the European Parliament. ALDE Party now represents 70% of the Renew Europe parliamentary group, underscoring our influence and commitment to European integration, the promotion of democratic values and prosperity.

The results of the elections have shown that there is a strong pro-European majority in the European Parliament. The provisional numbers show that the Renew Europe group together with EPP and S&D groups can form a comfortable majority. We must sit at the negotiation table and decide on the next steps of formalising a pro-European coalition. Renew Europe group is committed to European values and principles, and we are dedicated to delivering on the promises made to our citizens and ensuring a free, safe and prosperous future for all.

Recognising the crucial role we play within the European Parliament and the group, ALDE Party is ready to assume the leadership responsibilities within the parliamentary group.

The next ALDE Party meeting of heads of delegation will take place on June 18th and will serve as a platform to coordinate our next actions as we continue to champion the interests of the citizens that have put their trust in us and uphold the values that define our European political family.

ALDE Party is committed to working with the European Democratic Party and other non-affiliated partners in the Renew Europe group to achieve our common goals based on the Renew Europe Now campaign priorities. In this regard, ALDE Party has been in touch with non-affiliated MEPs to strengthen our cooperation to form an even-more united force in the next European Parliament. Together, we must ensure that Europe remains a beacon of democracy, freedom, and prosperity.
