ALDE Party launches Action Plan on the Future of Europe

This week, the ALDE Party launched its Future of Europe Action Plan with a citizens’ dialogue. ALDE Party Vice-President Alexander Lambsdorff, ELF President Hilde Vautmans and LYMEC President Antoaneta Asenova shared their insights on how they envisage the European Union to be in the coming years and answered several questions posed by the audience.

Hosted ahead of the official launch of the Conference on the Future of Europe on Europe Day, topics of discussion ranged from the fight of global warming in a liberal sustainable way and the European entity of foreign policy, including countries outside the EU, to the role of the youth as well as the national parliaments when it comes to having meaningful output with the Conference.

This event was the kick-off of a series of actions planned by the ALDE Party to contribute to the Conference on the Future of Europe. The Action Plan includes a dedicated website section, a series of townhall meetings across Europe with ALDE member parties as well as an ALDE Conference on the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The event was held in honour of the late ALDE President Hans van Baalen with the speakers sharing their tributes to Mr van Baalen, followed by one minute of silence to mourn his passing.

More information about the ALDE Party Action Plan, including the liberal vision on the future of Europe and future events as well as a section through which citizens can share their ideas to move Europe forward, are available through the following link: https://www.aldeparty.eu/cofoe
