ALDE Party Vice-President and Deputy Mayor of Budapest’s second district Dániel Berg has proudly joined the team of the Rainbow Platform as Ambassador for diversity and equality.

As mayor of the second district of Hungary’s capital city, he strives to counter the conservative propaganda from the country’s authoritarian regime and preserve democracy in Budapest.

As Vice President of ALDE Party, he brings that fight to the European stage to not only save his country from autocracy but also other European countries such as Poland from backsliding away from the EU’s democratic values.

His experience in fighting against the intolerance and oppression of an autocratic government will definitely be an asset for the Rainbow Platform.

The Platform is a cross-institutional initiative that aims to elevate LGBTQI+ voices by creating role models who can inspire political engagement and change through their fight for equal rights both locally and on an EU level.
