ALDE Party President Hans van Baalen is calling for European solidarity during the coronavirus crisis and has reached out to Liberal leaders in Spain and in Italy in particular. President van Baalen has discussed at great length with Ciudadanos party leader Ines Arrimadas as well as connected with Italian partners Emma Bonino, Benedetto Della Vedova, Antonella Soldo and Guiseppe Benedetto, assuring them of the great importance that ALDE is placing on pushing for European solidarity and cooperation.
The geographical and political differences in Europe can only be overcome if everyone focuses on fighting the virus and rebuilding economies together in the most effective way possible, while accepting that urgent action is needed now, as there is no time to waste. Structural reforms will be a key focus for the ALDE Party after the crisis.
The virus knows no borders, no gender, no race, and neither does it recognise sexual or political affiliation. President van Baalen is in constant contact with liberals in the European Council, ALDE Commissioners and the European Commission as well as the liberal group, Renew Europe, in the European Parliament.
We are all in this together! North & South, East & West, in & outside EU. Diseases do not know borders, race, religion, sexual orientation or political affiliation. @ALDEParty calls for solidarity with Spain and all other countries, regions and cities during #COVIDー19 crisis! 🇪🇺 https://t.co/UQTKdwmcuz
