In order to start early preparations for the 2019 European Parliament elections, social media managers from a wide range of ALDE Party member parties came together in Copenhagen on 7-8 June for a workshop on campaigning on social media. Around 25 participants from member parties exchanged best practices, tips and tools and discussed challenges they face in their daily work. This event was a follow-up for those social media managers who could not join our seminar last year in Brussels.
The core part of the programme took place on Friday 8 June at the Danish Parliament organised with the help of our Danish member parties Venstre and Radikale Venstre.
In the morning, the participants had the chance to hear about building your political digital brand from the ALDE Group in the European Parliament, how to make policy cool by Communication Adviser of Alexander de Croo Katrien Van den broeck and the experiences on social media from two Danish Member of Parliament, Martin Geertsen (Venstre) and Ida Auken (Radikale Venstre).

In the afternoon, the video editor from Radikale Venstre and experienced journalist Merle Strand Banggaard offered a training on Facebook Live and the participants also had the chance to hear some success cases from VVD (The Netherlands), Ciudadanos (Spain) and FDP (Germany).
