The Alliance Party in Northern Ireland has announced its lead candidate for the upcoming European elections. The party’s list will be headed by the party leader Naomi Long.
Following her nomination as the party’s head of list, Long said:
“These elections are absolutely critical. They are happening at a time when the chaos and uncertainty around Brexit is at its peak. I believe it’s hugely important that we can maximise the pro-Remain vote here in Northern Ireland.”
“I think it’s hugely important that the Alliance as a strong, pro-European, liberal and cross-community party runs a candidate in these elections.”
