The call for applications to join the Young Elected Politicians (YEP) programme of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) in 2021 is now open. Young local and regional liberal politicians have until 12 March to send their applications to have a chance to be selected to attend the 2021 programme of activities, which will focus on three priorities: bringing Europe closer to its people, building resilient communities and cohesion as a fundamental value.
Selected YEPs will have the chance to be involved in several activities that will be organised until the end of the year. Monthly networking sessions, info sessions on the three main topics, stakeholder consultations, CoR plenary sessions, #EURegionsWeek2021 and #EuroPCom2021 are some of the initiatives where YEPs will be asked to participate.
By default, all events will take place online. The evolution of the restriction measures will be carefully assessed and the possibility for YEPs to travel to Brussels will be evaluated in the upcoming months.
To apply YEPs need to read the call, meet the selection criteria and send their application before the 12 March deadline.
YEPs are asked to put the three topics in order of priority. They will be selected only for one topic but they will have the possibility to participate in the activities organised under the three themes if this is of interest for them. For each of the three themes, mandatory sessions are foreseen.
The YEP programme, and its online platform YEPCommunity.eu, offers an opportunity to network, exchange best practices, obtain information on EU legislation and EU funding opportunities, contribute to the work of the CoR, and to meet and discuss debate with CoR members and other local, regional and European politicians.
