On 23 April, ALDE Party member Azione in Italy launched its campaign under the joint list Siamo Europei (“We are Europeans”) ahead of the European elections in June at a party event in Milan.
Azione presented its full list of candidates in all five of Italy’s constituencies, including its first representative in the European Parliament Giuseppe Ferrandino MEP and former ALDE Party Secretary General Federica Sabbati.

"We are going to propose to Italians the best list made at these European elections. We don't want to be decisive for the perpetuation of bipolarism and we don't want to be decisive for the construction of an incapable government like Giorgia Meloni's,” said Azione leader Carlo Calenda.
The party’s programme for the European elections includes proposals to continue supporting Ukraine, the creation of a European Defence Commissioner and a common defence union, and increase the legislative power of European citizens through the European Parliament.

"We called this party 'Action', not 'Narrative', because we measure ourselves by facts, we focus on solutions, not stories. We have 45 days to continue to prove that we do not move an inch from a content-based, proposal-driven election campaign,” said Matteo Richetti, Azione’s leader in the Italian Parliament.
