On 21 November, ALDE Party Bureau members met in Brussels for the first time since the ALDE Party Congress in Portugal in October.
During the meeting, chaired by ALDE Party President Svenja Hahn, Bureau members agreed to outline the main areas of responsibility within their respective roles.
- President Svenja Hahn – develop strategy for and review of Congress and Council meetings, represent ALDE Party at Pre-European Council summit meetings, cooperate with Renew Europe
- Vice-President Yoko Alender – reform of ALDE Party’s policy work and the Alliance of Her
- Vice-President Malik Azmani – build up ALDE Party members, including current and potential members across Europe
- Vice-President Dan Barna – lead on cooperation with LIBSEEN, Renew Europe and Renew Europe CoR, participate in the Values monitoring mechanism taskforce
- Vice-President Sal Brinton – lead on relations with non-EU parties regarding legal issues and representation in ALDE Party, represent the Bureau within Liberal International
- Treasurer David Burke – lead on fundraising and corporate sponsorship
- Vice-President Rik Daems – lead the Values monitoring mechanism taskforce, cooperate with Renew Europe CoR and ALDE-PACE
- Vice-President Eva Kjer Hansen – lead on cooperation with the European Liberal Forum, and participate in the Values monitoring mechanism taskforce
- Vice-President Yevheniia Kravchuk – lead project on combatting disinformation, cooperate with ALDE-PACE, lead on relations with LYMEC and with non-EU parties regarding legal issues and representation
- Vice-President Jouni Ovaska – lead on building up relationships with national parliamentary groups, represent the Bureau within LYMEC, and reform ALDE Party’s policy work
- Vice-President Lucia Plaváková – lead on the Alliance Of Her, represent the Bureau within the Rainbow Platform, LGBTI Liberals for Europe and national liberal LGBTI networks, and participate in the Values monitoring mechanism taskforce
Each Bureau member has been allocated countries in Europe where they will be the lead Bureau contact for ALDE Party members, looking to strengthen relations with existing ALDE Party members in those countries and lead on exploring potential new partnership opportunities.
