The Alliance Of Her: Call for Applications Class of 2022, are now open!

We are very pleased to open the call for applications for our Alliance Of Her Academy Class of 2022.

European Liberal parties can and should lead by example on gender equality. The Alliance Of Her Academy is a powerful way we do this and the program has proven results – with a large network of empowered liberal women now having a real impact across European politics. With three sessions spread out across an entire year, participants benefit from mentoring and networking opportunities and a comprehensive package of content covering the essential elements to succeeding in political life. However our academy also aims to create an experience where participants have the time and space for self-reflection in an environment bursting with opportunities for personal development, focus and reflection.

You don’t need me to tell you what a critical time this is for programs like the Alliance Of Her Academy given the current political context. This is why we are significantly lifting our ambition for next year’s academy: for the first time, we will be offering two classes – including a very special ‘youth’ class in partnership with LYMEC. The youth class will be open to liberal women in politics between the age of 18-30. Class members will experience sessions tailored to the particular needs and experiences of young people active in European politics, including guest speakers, social activities and content. For more information please see this attached prospectus.

We aim to keep each class to no more than 20 participants.

There are some important eligibility criteria that must be carefully understood by candidates and their sponsoring party before applying. The ALDE party is not able to fully fund candidates for the class of 2022 who are 1) in a publicly elected office during the class of 2022; and/or 2) will run for political office between January 27, 2022 and November 27 2023 (that is 12 months after the final session). Candidates will need to sign a declaration indicating they adhere to the above criteria. If their circumstances change, their sponsoring party will need to co-fund their participation. For more information concerning our eligibility criteria and procedures please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Applications are open to all, provided candidates share ALDE Party values. The deadline will be 12 November 2021 end of the day (12:00 AM CET). We aim to announce the two classes of 2022 by November 26. All candidates must be able to fully attend all sessions. Make sure to send your application by filling out this form.
