Last Monday, Jan Van Braeken joined the ALDE Party Secretariat to support the team as Campaign Assistant for the upcoming European elections.

After his Bachelor in International Business, he graduated from the University of Antwerp with a Msc in International Relations and Diplomacy. After this, he started as trainee at the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the European Union where he sensed the dynamics and challenges of European and Belgian diplomacy. As an active member of the young liberals in Antwerp, Jan looks very much forward to his next challenge. During the campaign, Jan will assist the ALDE’s Campaign Director Didrik de Schaetzen and his team on various assignments, including strategy, messaging, communication materials, and so on.

Jan sums up his motivation: “Being part of this campaign team is a unique opportunity for me to defend my liberal values and to respond with a strong, positive and constructive message to counter the threats coming from both inside and outside the EU. ”
