Liberal International - ALDE Party Joint Statement on the ‘Election’ of the President of Georgia
With Clotilde Armand and Cees Loggen joining the Renew Europe in the European Committee of the Regions delegation to the Conference on the Future of Europe, a true liberal project where citizens are key and central, the delegation is now complete.
Clotilde Armand is Mayor of Bucharest Sector 1 since October 2020, a former MEP and member of USR PLUS who recently participated in Renew Europe CoR’s Liberal Mayors Summit. Cees Loggen is President of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), regional minister for the Province of North Holland for VVD and a former coordinator for the Natural Resources commission in the European Commission of the Regions for Renew Europe CoR.
The Renew Europe CoR delegation is now complete and consists of five members: François Decoster, Renew Europe CoR President and Mayor of Saint-Omer, France; Mirja Vehkaperä, chair of the city board of Oulu, Finland; Paula Fernández Viaña, Minister of the Interior, Justice and Foreign Action in the government of Cantabria; Clotilde Armand, Mayor of Bucharest Sector 1, former MEP, member of USR PLUS and Cees Loggen, President of CPMR, regional minister for North Holland and former coordinator of the NAT commission in the European Committee of the Regions.
On top of this Renew Europe CoR delegation, as part of the European Committee of the Regions, Renew Europe CoR member Simone Beissel, Deputy Mayor of Luxembourg City, also participates in the Conference representing Luxembourg. Several members will also organise citizens’ dialogues over the coming months to feed into the Conference, such as Paula Fernández Viaña did in Cantabria.
The CoR will present its final contribution to the Conference at the 9th European Summit of Regions and Cities, to be held during the French Presidency of the Council on 3-4 March 2022.
