The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party (ALDE Party) is the European liberal party composed of more than 70 member parties from more than 40 European countries. Its members share the common belief that freedom is key to the development of the individual and is core to the protection of civil liberties and free markets. ALDE Party works with its members throughout Europe to strengthen liberal democrat parties and policies and to engage effectively with European citizens.
The Brussels-based Secretariat supports the activities of the ALDE Party, organizes its meetings, manages its external communication, provides strategic consultancy and organizational development, facilitates European policy development and networking amongst liberal parties. To support our work, we are now seeking a Brussels based:
Communication Adviser
THE POSITION
As a member of the Communications & Press Unit and the 2024 Campaign team, the Communication Adviser will have a front row seat to the inner workings of an electoral campaign. The main responsibilities of the position are:
- Act as the liaison between the Communications Unit and the 2024 Campaign Team
- Proactively propose and create content to all organisation’s social media channels together with relevant colleagues
- Ensure that the necessary social media plans are drafted and implemented for Campaign events
- Analyse the social media performance and help monitor progress on social media KPIs
- Monitor campaign related press coverage and liaise with journalists on interview requests, press events, etc.
- Help contribute to organisation’s overall communications strategy during the electoral period
- Produce communication deliverables for the 2024 European elections campaign under the supervision of Head of Communications and Campaign Director
- Cooperate with other units to ensure delivery of social media elements for ACT emails and other relevant topics
- Support the creation process of the Liberal Bulletin
- Support Head of Communication Unit & 2024 Campaign Director in communication with key stakeholders
Reports to: Head of Communications & Press Unit, 2024 Campaign Director
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for a candidate with:
- 5 years of communications experience
- Proven track record in managing social media accounts with large following
- Experience in managing newer social media channels, like TikTok or Mastodon
- Experience in producing communication materials for local, national or European electoral campaigns
- Attention to detail
- Native level English, other languages an advantage
This is a temporary position, with a duration until 30 June 2024. The Communication Adviser will be based in Brussels.
