Thank you for reading our first edition for 2022. In this section you can hear our thoughts on where we will grow the newsletter over the coming year. 

Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Michael and I have recently joined the ALDE party as its Corporate Engagement Officer. My role within the party is to understand a wide range of policy sectors and facilitate engagement with our representatives on these topics with private enterprise and trade associations.

Right now, we are experiencing one of the most exciting periods in the EU’s history. The policy being discussed will not only set European and Global standards, but influence what direction new and emerging technologies will take long into the future head. From the Digital Single Market Act and the European Green deal, to innovations across Bio-materials, 5G and AI.

Much of my own experience comes from the private sector, having worked across R&D, Business Development and Advocacy. Before ALDE I spent three years in the commercial space sector, and prior to this hold experience in innovation policy and communications across Maritime, Energy, Entrepreneurship and Academia. As a Liberal organization, the ALDE Party has taken initiatives to ensure our policy is relevant and impactful. We believe in gaining a diverse range of inputs, so our representatives can ensure a progressive and innovative landscape.

As one small aspect of this, we have established the Liberal Insider Pro to provide regular monthly updates and insights into ALDE activity and wider current affairs. In the coming editions of you can expect to see;

• Analysis on topical policy discussion and activity.
• Interviews from our European and National representatives to gain their understanding.
• Digestible insight into on-going Institutional activities.
• Data insights to understand how the electorate of Europe feel about current and emerging topics as well as regular European and National polling information.
• Updates on ALDE’s monthly activity.
• Contributions from other corporate stakeholders to hear their views.
