Transport
Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and is located in the south-west of the country. The city lies on both banks of the Danube and in the foothills of the Little Carpathians. It borders three countries and is easily accessible by train and plane.
Travelling from Bratislava Airport
Bratislava M. R. Štefánik Airport, located just 9 kilometres northeast of Bratislava city, is the main airport of Slovakia receiving international flights. There are two options to get from the airport to the city centre of Bratislava, either by taxi in around 15-20 minutes, or by public transport. Bus no. 61 leaves the airport and stops at the Zimný štadión, from there bus no. 78 will drop you off at the Nové SND station, just a minute's walk from the Sheraton Hotel. Travelling from Vienna Airport
The airport at Vienna-Schwechat is only 40 kilometres west of Bratislava. Buses to Bratislava depart at 30 to 60-minute intervals. Tickets can be bought on the bus; check the following companies: regiojet.com and flixbus.com. Official website of the airport: viennaairport.com
Travelling by train from central-European cities
Bratislava connects to the main train lines from Prague, Budapest and Vienna. Bratislava has two railway stations – the Main Station and Petržalka. The Main Station is well connected to the rest of the city via trams, buses or trolleybuses and you can get to the Old Town on foot in only 15 minutes. Official website: zssk.sk
