Field of expertise: Climate and sustainability

Emma Wiesner was elected as Member of the European Parliament for Centerpartiet in 2021. In Parliament, she is a full member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and the Committee on Fisheries. 

During her time in the Centre Movement, she has been involved in CUF, Centre Students, Centre Women and the party. Her involvement started in CUF where she started the Västerås branch and then became district chair in Västmanland. During her studies, she was a member of the board of the Centre Students and also a deputy member of the party board. Among other things, She led the environmental policy network and was involved in developing the Centre Students' environmental policy program.

As a trained civil engineer in energy with experience from the battery industry and with a background as an energy market analyst, She stepped full-time into politics in 2021 as a Member of the European Parliament. At 28 years of age, she became Sweden’s youngest member of the European Parliament

Today, she works with taxes and policy instruments in the energy and climate area as an analyst at the technology company Sweco. She has previously worked with EU issues at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise's Brussels office and have experience from ABB, Mälarenergi and Vattenfall.
