On 17 September, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen revealed the distribution of policy areas for the new College of Commissioners.
Five liberal, centrist and democrat Commissioners are set to take key portfolios and will be in the driving seat to renew Europe.
All designated Commissioners will need to be approved by the European Parliament through a hearing with MEPs in the next weeks before they can start their roles this autumn.

Kaja Kallas (Estonia) – High Representative/Vice President of the European Commission for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
Stéphane Séjourné (France) – European Commission Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy
Michael McGrath (Ireland) – European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice and the Rule of Law
Marta Kos (Slovenia)* – European Commissioner for Enlargement
