On 18 March, ALDE Party Deputy Secretary-General and Spokesperson Didrik de Schaetzen met with representatives from the European people's Party, the Party of European Socialists and New Direction (the Foundation for European Reform) at the invitation of the American Chamber of Commerce for the EU to discuss how we stand with Ukraine.
During the meeting attendees discussed economic measures taken against Putin's regime, energy dependency, Ukraine's candidacy status for EU membership, the arms to be sent to help Ukraine on the war effort, solidarity with Ukrainian refugees and a Marshal Plan for Ukraine to help them rebuild once the war is over.
All participants agreed that we need to make sure that Ukraine does not slip off the EU's agenda.
