From 28 November to 1 December, the 17 talented liberal women making up the European Women’s Academy (EWA) Class of 2019 came together in Belgium to continue their learning journey on how to be successful in elections.
Consisting of sessions on social media, fundraising and data as well as insightful discussions with EWA alumnae, the participants also had the opportunity to learn from each other.
“I’ve learnt how to speak in public, how to fundraise and mostly how to have confidence and just go for it,” Stina Wahlsten from our Finnish member SFP told us after the inaugural session earlier this year.
Summing up the learnings was also Queeny-Aimee Rajkowski of ALDE member VVD from the Netherlands: “I have learnt that finding a good campaign manager is step one in making sure that your campaign succeeds. I also look forward to hearing more about data – I want to learn more about my voters and what they care about.”
The final session of the EWA Class of 2019 will take place in Belgium from 23 to 26 January 2020.
EWA was founded in 2016 by the Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit, the ALDE Party – Liberals and Democrats for Europe and the European Liberal Forum.
