On 14 April, the ALDE Party hosted its first-ever Stakeholder Series event, which is a new type of ALDE event series bringing together stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss key European policy topics through open and inclusive panel discussions.
This first event was organised in coordination with Hyundai, and it focused on the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and automated driving.
The event kicked off with each of the three panellists – ALDE Party Vice-President Dita Charanzová MEP, José Ramón Bauzá Díaz MEP and Edvin Eriksen, Head of Office for Hyundai’s Berlin Cradle location – sharing their perspective on the topic, outlining how AI and automated driving go hand-in-hand and how policymakers can work together with industry experts to make this technology work for Europe as we head further into the 21st century.
In a lively Q&A portion, the audience had an opportunity to ask questions, with topics ranging from the possibility of an EU ‘standard’ for automated driving to its potential ethical implications.
