In the weekend of 13-15 September, about 35 individual members met at ALDE Party Headquarters in Brussels for the first ever Summer Academy for individual members. During these days the members learnt from ALDE Party’s Paola d’Amecourt insights about the best elements of the ALDE Party campaign for the European elections under the banner of Renew Europe and our leading candidates in Team Europe. They also learnt about the latest tips and tricks on how to be successful on social media from Iiris André.
On Saturday afternoon, members discussed the resolutions that are submitted for discussion at the ALDE Party Congress in Athens, to be held next month. They focused on their own resolutions on the topics of “Supporting individual members in Central and Eastern Europe” and “Creation of a Rule of Law mechanism” as well as a resolution that was jointly submitted in cooperation with the European Liberal Youth of LYMEC on “Transnational lists for the European elections of 2024.” Futhermore, they analysed the 10 other resolutions that are on the agenda of the Congress and collectively drafted amendments. The work during the Summer Academy greatly helped the elected individual members’ delegates to prepare for the ALDE Congress.
ALDE Party individual members’ Steering Committee chair Thaleia Ntoka said: “It is great to be together, learn from each other’s ideas and work collectively. Together as individuals, we can contribute to the development of Europe which is our home and to promote the ideals of liberalism.”
