On 10 May, ALDE Group President and Team Europe member Guy Verhofstadt was in London to campaign with Liberal Democracts and their leader Vince Cable.

Joining forces to spread the liberal, pro-European message, Verhofstadt was optimistic of the current performance of Lib Dems in the UK and the party’s strong stance to remain: “I’m looking forward to the good results for the Lib Dems, at least repeating or doing even better than in the local elections, which were already very amazing.”

“Liberal Democrats are the strongest remain party in the UK. They have the momentum to send a message that will be heard across Europe at the European elections,” Verhofstadt said.
