A couple of weeks have passed since the ALDE Party Congress in Athens - yet the Steering Committee of ALDE Party’s individual members has not forgotten their victory.
Steering Committee member Silvia Fernandez says: "Ever since the beginning of individual membership, we have fought tooth and nail to have a voice within the ALDE Party. Year after year, we have presented resolutions on issues that have been top priorities for us."
She continued: "This year, we turned the tables. We have not only successfully passed one, but three resolutions that are near and dear to us: Transnational Lists, Creation of Rule of Law mechanism, and active support for our members in the Central and Eastern European countries. Issues that go beyond national borders, and that matters to us as proud liberals, and proud Europeans.”
The Steering Committee would like to especially thank this year’s elected Congress delegates. Silvia Fernandez: “It was an incredible achievement by Anja Fabiani, Diana Severati, Timothy Asotie and Nadia Bennis.”
Silvia Fernandez concluded: "Such a sweet end to an amazing Congress in the very own cradle of Democracy - the city of Athens. I have only left to say: let’s move forward together!"
