Individual members: candidates for upcoming elections

During the ALDE Congress in Madrid, the ALDE Council - ALDE Party’s second-highest decision-making body - will meet to discuss matters such as applications for membership by national political parties, membership fees, the party’s annual budget and accounts. Individual members are represented in the ALDE Party Council by one elected Council delegate. The secretariat has received valid 3 nominations. The candidates are listed below.

Also, following the resignation of Chris Pyak in June, the Steering Committee is seeking reinforcement. We have received 4 valid nominations. They are listed below the candidates for ALDE Party Council delegate.

All paid-up individual members will receive two ballots in their inbox on Wednesday 19 September. One to elect the Council delegate and one to elect a new Steering Committee member. You will have one week to vote. Results will be published on 27 September.

Early next week, you will be able to read more from the candidates on the individual members' blog Liberal Words.

I haven't received my ballot. What to do?

If you haven't received a ballot in your inbox by the late afternoon of Wednesday 19 September, please first check your spambox. If there is no ballot in your spambox, contact Daniel at the ALDE Party secretariat. Contact him as soon as possible. There is not a lot we can do if you contact the secretariat just before the closing of the ballot on Wednesday 26 September.

What about the duration of the mandate of the elected Council delegate and Steering Commmittee member?

The elected Council delegate's mandate is valid for ALDE Party's autumn Council of 2018 and for the ALDE Party Council meeting(s) in the spring of 2019.

The mandate for a Steering Committee member elected in a by-election will end when the regular mandate of the Steering Committee ends. The mandate of the current Steering Committee will end at the ALDE Party Congress in the autumn of 2019.
