Individual members: the coronavirus

May 20, 2020 | 06:30PM-08:30PM
Online Event, Brussels, Belgium

Dear ALDE Party Individual Members all over Europe,

I am glad to announce an exclusive chance to meet online one of the best informed insiders of European Union affairs:

Alexander Graf Lambsdorff, FDP MP
Vice President of the ALDE Party
Member of German Parliament
FDP spokesperson on Foreign, Defense, European, and Development Policy

Online Webinar next Wednesday, May 20th 2020, 18.30 - 19.30 CEST

"The Corona Virus - Europe's new enemy?"
Political consequences of the pandemic
- Input and Questions -

Background:
The spreading of the corona virus to the European Union has massive implications for European policy. Much has changed from what we had believed to be unchangeable. Liberals cannot be happy about the closure of the Schengen region, the stoppage of the Common Market, and a nationalistic patchwork of health policy concepts.

Sven Gossel from the AIM Steering Committee will address with Graf Lambsdorff important questions like: How far can liberals tolerate the restriction of liberties? Should the EU Commission in the future have more centralistic rights regarding health issues? What is the impact of desinformation campaigns seen from China and Russia? There will also be the opportunity for questions-and-answers.

It is easy to take part (no pre registration, no fee):

You can watch live on Facebook, or,

Just before 18h30 CEST, click on this link to join the online meeting: WEBEX.

(Perhaps your computer might alert you to install the Webex application for PC or Mac. It is not essential, but you can download via the button “click here to install Webex”. If you do not want to download, just click on “Join from your browser.”)

I would be glad to "see" as many of you as possible at this event!

Yours sincerely

Wolf Achim Wiegand
