The ALDE Party Secretariat has the pleasure to inform individual members about upcoming elections. In September, members will elect their ALDE Council delegate as well as a new member of the Steering Committee. In October, members in Germany will be able to elect their country coordinators.
During the ALDE Congress in Madrid, the ALDE Council - ALDE Party’s second-highest decision-making body - will meet as well to discuss matters such as applications for membership by national political parties, membership fees, the party’s annual budget and accounts. Individual members are represented in the ALDE Party Council by one elected Council delegate.
As you may know, the 38th Congress of the ALDE Party will take place from 8-10 November in Madrid, Spain. At the end of June, individual members elected four Congress delegates.
According to the rules of individual membership, the mandate of the Council delegate will cover the autumn Council and the Council in the spring of the following year. The Council member must organise and pay for her/his travel and accommodation. Partial travel costs will be reimbursed after the Council meetings.
Every member who is up to date with his or her membership fee will be able to vote and can nominate her or himself for the election. Nominees need at least three other individual members to endorse their nomination. Nominees also need to have a good knowledge of the English language.

The endorsements for your candidature must be sent by the endorser also to [email protected] before the deadline of 10 September.
