Monday 10 September at 08h30 at ALDE Party HQ - join us for: The Morning After: A Liberal Breakfast on the Swedish Elections.
Registration & Light Breakfast: 8:15h
Event: 8:30 – 9:30h
Venue: ALDE Party HQ, Rue d’Idalie 11, 1050 Brussels
About the event:
Recently, Sweden has been marked by a heatwave causing major forest fires that even called European countries to come to aid. Do-mestically, the fires influenced the ongoing election campaign quite significantly. Other hotly debated issues were migration and violent crime.
The two big unknowns prior to the elections are how well the Swedish far-right will do, and whether the results of the Social Democrats will reach a historic low. Given this situation it seems uncertain how and with whom a governing coalition can come into being. However, what is certain is that the political landscape in Sweden will change substantial-ly.
What will be the outcome for the two liberal parties Centerpartiet and Liberalerna? Where do liberal forces stand after the election? Where is Sweden – known as the pillar of tolerance and stability – heading to? How could a change in Swedish politics with regards to the European Union look like? Join us and our distinguished liberal speakers, as we discuss these and other questions on the morning after the elections.
