Join our closing event on COFOE this Saturday

You can still register to attend, online or in person, to ALDE Party’s Conference on the Future of Europe event in The Hague on 23 April. During the event, co-hosted by ALDE Party member VVD, we will discuss all the inputs gathered from citizens on our series of town hall meetings and our digital hub with a line-up of distinguished speakers, such as Guy Verhofstadt MEP or Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Liesje Schreinemacher.

LYMEC is taking action to help Ukraine!

At the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, LYMEC, ALDE Party’s youth wing, was the first pan-European youth organisation to call for immediate support for Ukraine. Today it continues to put pressure on liberal parties and governments to provide Ukraine with military support, express their solidarity with Ukraine and use every diplomatic and political effort possible to achieve a de-escalation and peaceful solution to the war.

With more than 3,000 kms covered and 80 participants, our ALDE Party runners team is leading UNICEFs campaign to assist the children of Ukraine. Nevertheless, we still have one more week to ramp up donations and run all the way back from Kiev to Brussels before the campaign ends. What are you waiting for? Join our team!

In her 2021 State of the Union address, Ursula von der Leyen declared 2022 the European Year of Youth. At ALDE Party, we believe in the important role of young people as decision makers. This is why, together with LYMEC, we have put together a video series to feature the projects of young liberals. Two episodes of the series have come out already and more are to come!

Fresh spyware allegations show need for thorough Pegasus investigation

This week, the European Parliament started its essential work to investigate the abuse of Pegasus Spyware by EU Governments. In light of fresh allegations on the use of surveillance tools against citizens, journalists and politicians in Europe, the importance and urgency of the new Pegasus Inquiry Committee, initiated by Renew Europe, is greater than ever.

Afghan women need EU support to enjoy their fundamental right to education

Renew Europe condemns the Taliban’s persistent focus on erasing women and girls from public life in Afghanistan and is pushing for the establishment of an Afghan Exile Online University, with financial support from the EU. Europe must allocate funds towards these types of programmes as part of a comprehensive and long-term commitment to support the rights of Afghan women!
