USR outlines liberal reform mission for Romania ahead of 2024 election year |
Cătălin Drulă, leader of the USR party in Romania, outlined his vision for the party at a meeting of the party’s Political Council held in Bucharest on 19 November. He outlined the three things that the party will do in order for Romania to become the country they want: stop the waste of public money, invest in the country's true priorities, and promote honest, professional and hard-working people in the administration. |

LDP North Macedonia elects Monika Zajkova as first female leader |
Over the weekend, Monika Zajkova was elected as the new party leader of LDP, ALDE Party member party in North Macedonia, at the party’s 8th National Congress held under the slogan "United, brave, loud!". In her acceptance speech she promised to deliver a future-oriented leadership focused on developing policies that will create a better tomorrow. |

D66 Congress delegates push for rapid implementation of refugee law |
On 19 November, D66 members adopted a motion in favour of rapid implementation of the refugee law to urge for direct solutions to the refugee crisis during their 116th Congress in Rotterdam. They highlighted the importance of respecting international human rights and the responsibility of the Netherlands in welcoming people fleeing war and violence. |

Young liberals set goals for the next two years |
Over the weekend, the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) approved the organisation’s action plan for 2022-2024 at the LYMEC Congress in Bucharest, Romania. Young liberals will focus on six policy areas for the next two years: EU structural reform, democracy and rule of law, environment and energy, digitalisation and security, globalisation and trade and education and youth unemployment. |

E-commerce needs regulation that puts sustainability, consumers, and small businesses first |
On 16 November, ALDE Party hosted an event focused on the “The Future of e-Commerce” in collaboration with Shopify. Speakers discussed the growth of online retail and what to expect in the coming years with the audience. They focused on regulation that considers consumers’ user experience, understanding the limitations of small businesses and the rise in sustainable consumer choices. |

Renew Europe welcomes the agreement at COP27 to support vulnerable countries in tackling the effects of climate change but warns that more action is needed. However, though the Conference reached an agreement to support the most vulnerable countries in tackling loss and damage caused by climate change, it failed to make the necessary progress to accelerate the green transition. |
