Liberals enter government in Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 25 January, Edin Forto, leader of ALDE Party member Naša Stranka, was appointed Minister of Transport and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This appointment is a historic event for the party as it enters national government for the first time. Additionally, Duška Jurišić was appointed Deputy Minister of Human Rights and Refugees, nominated by Naša Stranka.

Alliance Of Her Academy kicks off for 2023

Last week, 22 ambitious women came together for the Alliance Of Her Academy. This first session of the year focused on building political strategies, organising and reflecting on the foundations of successful political leadership. AOH alumna Eva De Bleeker joined for a fireside chat with participants, where she spoke about the challenges she has faced as a woman in political life.

Renew Europe CoR: Promoting culture across borders

Together with Renew Europe CoR President François Decoster, Vice-President for Culture of the Hauts-de-France region and Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Minister-President of Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and former Renew Europe CoR member, signed an agreement for cultural cooperation. Working together, the two regions aim to develop and reinforce cultural and artistic partnerships across borders.

Join the ALDE Party Secretariat as Policy Officer

You can now apply to become ALDE Party’s new Policy Officer. The successful candidate will join the Policy & Membership Affairs Unit which is responsible for the ALDE Party’s policy and membership development. The Unit facilitates the exchange of ideas and best practices among member parties, draft positions and shape and promote the ALDE Party’s narrative. Applications are open until 19 February.

EU-Ukraine Summit must kickstart accession

Ahead of the EU-Ukraine Summit this Friday, Renew Europe tabled a resolution in the European Parliament calling for measures to be taken by the European Commission and the European Council. Notably, Renew Europe calls on the Commission to produce a concrete proposal for the transfer of the frozen assets to Ukraine and a fast start to the EU accession process.

Renew Europe: Mental health survey results

In autumn 2022, Renew Europe launched a survey to find out more about why young people are increasingly experiencing mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and loneliness. Global events like the pandemic and the war in Ukraine have exacerbated this trend in recent years, and the newly published survey results indicate key focus areas for addressing this issue in the future.
