The Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS), founded in 1990, is a political party based on the tradition of European parliamentary democracies and the need for equal inclusion of the citizens of Istria and Istrian islands in current and future economic, spiritual and political developments in this region and in Croatia. IDS advocates for the decentralization of Croatia and aims to develop all the characteristics and wealth of Istria and the Istrian islands as a regional entity shaped by a distinctive ethnic, economic, and cultural wealth. Currently, IDS is the largest regionalist party in Croatia.
