On Monday 19 February, the ALDE Party hosted an lunchtime event with Alessandro Lerario, candidate for the Chamber of Deputies, and Paolo Aztori, candidate for the Senate, running with the list PiúEuropa con Emma Bonino for the European constituency in the upcoming Italian elections.
As the elections are approaching, the event aimed to give an overview of the Italian electoral system presenting the new ballot paper as well as to discuss PiúEuropa's electoral program and some of the topical issues at the heart of the Italian electoral campaign.
The debate focused mainly on the Italian economic growth, corporativism, youth employment an entrepreneurship, migration issue and Europe. The public also raised questions regarding PiúEuropa position on issues related to people with disabilities, corruption and possible future coalitions.
After the event, the two candidates took part in a Facebook live. They presented themselves, their respective motivations to run in these elections and their electoral programs.
