On June 20, the ALDE Group at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council Of Europe, PACE, elected Iulian Bulai as new Chair. Bulai, member of ALDE Party Romanian member party USR Plus takes over the Presidency from Jaques Maire.

“I thank my colleagues from all over Europe who voted for me today. I am very honored by the trust received. Democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights form the foundation of the Council of Europe. Together we will work to defend these values”, he said.

Astăzi, la Strasbourg, am fost ales președinte al grupului ALDE din Adunarea Parlamentară a Consiliului Europei (APCE). Grupul ALDE este al treilea ca mărime și are 96 de membri din 27 de țări.

“I am passing the torch to my dynamic, very committed Romanian colleague. With him as with me, our group will continue in its fight for rights throughout Europe”, said former president Maire.
