Jaroslava Pokorná Jermanová started her career in politics in 1998, being elected as a representative of the village of Krhancie and successfully becoming its Mayor in 2002. She went on to represent the Czech Republic's central bohemian region between 2004 and 2008, assuming the region's Governor role between 2016 and 2020, before returning to her previous position from 2020-2024.

She was also elected as the first Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech republic in 2015, a role which she held until 2022.
